Kling AI Review 2026: Is Kling 3.0 Worth $8.80/Mo?
Kling 3.0 makes video and audio in one pass. Free accounts get 66 credits a month; paid plans run $6.99 the first month, then $8.80/mo ($6.60 annual).

Kling AI sells video by the credit. You pick a plan, the plan drops a monthly pile of credits into your account, and every clip you generate takes a bite out of it. The numbers on this page come from Kling’s pricing page and from the Generate button in my own account, which quotes the price of a job before you run it.
Yes, within limits. A free Basic account gets 66 credits a month, claimed when you log in and valid for 31 days. That buys two 5-second Kling 3.0 clips at 720p without audio, one clip with native audio, or a single 5-second Kling 4.0 clip. Free output carries a watermark, is capped at 720p and is for personal use only. The catch is the queue. On three separate afternoons the free queue turned my jobs away with a busy-hours message, and the clips only went through in the evening.
On Standard, the $8.80 plan with 660 credits, a credit works out to about 1.3 cents. A 5-second Kling 3.0 clip at 720p is 30 credits, so roughly 40 cents, and 60 cents with audio. The same five seconds on Kling 4.0 at 1080p is 75 credits, about $1. Pro brings the credit down to about 1.1 cents and takes 10% off Kling 4.0 jobs, so the heavier you generate, the more the bigger plans make sense.

Standard and Pro are cheaper in month one ($6.99 and $25.99) and renew at the full price afterwards, which is easy to miss on the checkout page. Yearly billing takes about a quarter off the list price and skips that renewal jump. In October 2026 Kling also reshuffled its two top tiers, so Premier now carries 18,000 credits and Ultra+ 57,000, both with a cheaper first year on the yearly plan. Purchased credits stay valid for two years, so an unused month is not lost.

Dollar figures are the job's credits divided by the plan's monthly allowance, times the plan's monthly price. Annual billing and intro prices are not applied.
These are the quotes the Generate button showed me on October 21, 2026. 1080p is a paid-plan mode, so the free account only ever sees the 720p prices. Kling 4.0 costs more per second than 3.0 and its 4K and HDR modes were still marked as coming soon when I checked.

If you only want to see what Kling makes, the free plan is enough for a couple of test clips a month, provided you generate outside the busy hours. If you want to post the result, the watermark and the personal-use rule push you to Standard on day one.
Standard, for anyone trying Kling seriously for the first time: 660 credits is around twenty 5-second clips at 720p, and the watermark and the commercial-use restriction disappear. Pro is for people who generate several clips a day; the 10% discount on Kling 4.0 and the lower price per credit add up quickly. I would not go above Pro until a month on Pro has actually run out of credits.

Yes, with limits. The free Basic plan gives 66 credits a month, enough for two 5-second 720p clips. Output is watermarked, capped at 720p and for personal use only, and the free queue can refuse jobs at busy hours.
Standard is $8.80 a month ($6.99 the first month, $6.60 a month billed yearly) with 660 credits. Pro is $32.56 ($25.99 the first month, $24.42 yearly) with 3,000 credits. Premier and Ultra+ carry 18,000 and 57,000 credits at $181.99 and $544.99 a month.
About twenty 5-second Kling 3.0 clips at 720p (30 credits each) or around eight 5-second Kling 4.0 clips at 1080p (75 credits each) from the 660 monthly credits.
Only on the free plan. Every paid plan, from Standard up, removes the watermark and allows commercial use.
Free credits expire 31 days after you claim them. Purchased credits stay valid for two years, so an unused month on a paid plan is not lost.
